Let’s Build Resilience Together
ORKIC exists because no school or district should face today’s threats alone. From ransomware to phishing campaigns, our collective knowledge is our greatest shield. Together, we build a stronger, safer digital foundation for Oregon’s students, educators, and communities.
Our Purpose
ORKIC was formed out of a growing need for Oregon’s K-12 institutions to support each other in the face of increasing cyber threats, shrinking budgets, and limited staffing. Recent data highlights the urgency.

About the Oregon K-12 InfoSec Collective (ORKIC)
The Oregon K-12 InfoSec Collective (ORKIC) is a free, membership-based workgroup uniting technology leaders, cybersecurity professionals, and education advocates across Oregon’s Education Service Districts (ESDs) and school districts. Formed to address increasing cyber threats, limited budgets, and staffing challenges, ORKIC provides a trusted space for collaboration, intelligence sharing, and collective problem-solving.
Through real-time threat intelligence sharing and open discussions, members gain early warnings, practical security strategies, and a stronger defense against cyber threats. By working together, we empower K-12 institutions to protect their schools, staff, and students from evolving digital risks.
